About Resting Sycamore Advisors

Life is too short to spend it confused

Peter Abilla, founder of Resting Sycamore Advisors

Medicare gets complicated fast. Enrollment deadlines. Plan types. Drug coverage. Provider networks. And a pile of information that is either too vague to use or too dense to get through.

I started Resting Sycamore Advisors to take that off your plate.

I help people understand how Medicare works, look at their options side by side, and enroll knowing exactly why they picked what they picked. Clear answers. No pressure. Help that actually makes sense.

Peter Abilla · founder, licensed Medicare insurance sales agent

Why does Peter do this work?

For years I sat on the other side of the table. I worked with healthcare organizations on their operations, helping them run better for the patients and customers they served. From that seat, I watched small administrative problems turn into big ones.

A card that shows up two weeks late. A name misspelled on a form. A prior authorization that stalls over something trivial while somebody waits to see a cardiologist. It all looks like paperwork right up until you’re the one standing at the pharmacy counter, unable to get your prescription filled.

For most of my career I looked at healthcare problems the way an engineer does. Detached. Objective. Find the flaw in the process, fix the flaw, move on. After that day, every flaw had a face on it.

Every person who sits down with me gets treated the way I’d want someone to treat my mom. That’s the whole standard.

People deserve a straight explanation, someone patient enough to go through it twice, and someone who remembers that a coverage decision is really a question about how your life is going to go.

What is it like to work with Peter?

I haven’t always been an insurance agent. The work was always the same, though. Take something tangled and make it make sense to people who don’t have time for the tangle.

That’s still the job.

I look at Medicare the way I looked at every other high-stakes decision. What are the real options here? Which differences actually matter for this person, and which ones are noise? Where do people get tripped up? How do we land on a good answer without piling on more confusion?

So when we talk, you won’t get a wall of jargon or a nudge toward a deadline. We start with your life:

  • your doctors
  • your prescriptions
  • the hospitals you want to keep
  • your budget
  • how much you travel
  • whether you’d rather have flexibility or predictable costs

Then we work out which coverage fits that.

What if you are not sure where to start?

  • Some people want someone to explain how Medicare works, start to finish.
  • Some already know what they want and just need a second set of eyes.
  • Some are trying to decide whether to keep what they have or change it.

All of that is fine. You don’t have to show up with the right questions. Finding the right questions is my half of the job.

Come as you are and we’ll figure it out together.
